  • Adele Zhao is a fiction writer recognized by Scholastic Art & Writing and YoungArts. Her passions include political and environmental activism; coming-of-age and A24 films; volunteering at the local library; and classic literature.


Senior Editors

  • Hi, my name is Emma Oriani, and I’m a Year 12 student. I love to stay informed on and discuss various political topics so you’ll normally find my pieces and op-eds on The Soapbox section. In my free time, I like driving around Charlotte and finding new places to hang out with friends!

  • Stephanie Wu (Arts Editor) - Hi, my name is Stephanie Wu. I am a Year 13 student and I have lived in Charlotte, NC for 12 years. I enjoy figure skating, painting, and animals.

  • Ai Ebisawa is a high school student who plays highschool rugby, enjoys spending time with friends, loves video games and motorcycles. She plans on going to college for engineering or business.

  • Sofia Leon takes pleasure in finding meaning in day-to-day life. She finds joy in creative writing, mindfulness activities, and acts of service. She aspires to publish her writing, but beyond that she desires to make an impact on the world.

  •  Vir Munavalli is a high school student who enjoys learning about the history of the world.  He aspires to be a corporate lawyer. His passions include reading, watching films, and traveling.

  • Caleb Sweaney is a high school senior driven by the outdoors. He spends his time playing sports, reading, and watching movies.

  •  Luciana Tapias is a high school student who enjoys Marvel, anime, and many other shows and movies. She likes playing tennis and loves reading comics. Although she’s not quite sure what she wants to do when she grows up, she plans on going to university for business.

  • Hi, I’m Lily Vega and one of my hobbies is collecting vinyl records. I do this because I love learning about art especially music, so I dedicate time to understand the history, culture, and love behind the music!

  • Davis Williams is a high school student enthusiastic about social issues, motivated by love, togetherness, and a healthy dose of optimism. Other passions include any creative arts, STEAM subjects, music composition, as well as world politics and history.

  • Nieve Keady delights in creative writing and is a self-described film nerd in the making. Her ultimate goal is to find a way to bring novel writing, screenwriting, and directing all into one job. In addition, she’s a horror and animation enthusiast with an inclination toward the gothic.

  • Summer Liu is a high school student passionate about the STEAM fields, and aspires to be either a biomedical engineer or an ophthalmologist. Though she is not limited to the scientific subjects- as her pastimes include creating jewelry, oil painting, and constantly reading books of any and all genres.
